Philippa Larkin

Estate and elder law attorney

I write wills and trusts, settle estates and help families plan for long-term care, on my own and at my own pace.

I grew up a few blocks from where my office is now, and worked at a larger firm before opening my own practice. Working alone means I keep my practice small: I take on a limited number of estates at a time, and every client has my direct number.

Most of my clients are in their sixties and seventies, or are the grown children of someone who is. I like explaining things with worked examples, and I write short guides and record short videos for the questions I hear every week. Outside the office, I sing in a church choir and spend too much time in my garden.

From families I've worked with

“She explained Mom's options with a sheet of numbers we could all see on the screen. My sister in Ohio finally understood why we needed to act that month.”

Lynette P.Daughter, Medicaid planning

“I'd put off our wills for ten years. It took one evening call and a forty-minute signing, and the summary page is on our fridge.”

Rodney A.Father of three

“I live in Seattle and was executor for my father's house. Philippa sent an update every other week and I only flew in once.”

Joanna C.Executor

Each family's situation is different, and what happened for these clients doesn't predict what will happen for you.
